Church News!

With a unanimous vote, the Session is pleased to inform our church family that Dr. Guy Richardson, president of the Jackson campus of Reformed Theological Seminary, has agreed to become our interim supply pastor.

Dr. Richardson has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Auburn University, which initially prepared him for work in the family construction business.  He later returned to school and earned three additional graduate degrees – a master’s degree from both Reformed Theological Seminary and Georgia State University, and his doctorate from Auburn University in Marriage and Family Counseling.  He was ordained as a Presbyterian minister in 1987.

Dr. Richardson is also a licensed professional counselor.  For twelve years he directed two church-based Christian counseling centers: First Presbyterian Church in Augusta, Georgia; and Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, Alabama.  In 1996 he and his family moved to Newark, Delaware where, for three years, he was the interim senior pastor for Evangelical Presbyterian Church.  After completing that work, he moved to Mississippi in 1999 to assume leadership for the Jackson campus of Reformed Theological Seminary.

He and his wife, Denise, have been married for 31 years and have two adult daughters.  In addition to being a wife and mother, Denise is best known by many for leading women’s Bible studies and speaking for women’s retreats.

We believe that their help will benefit our church and that our church family will enjoy getting to know them.  Please welcome Denise and Guy Richardson as they join our fellowship at Grace Chapel this month.  His first day in the pulpit is this Sunday, February 16th.
