Local Mission Opportunities Receiving Support from Grace Chapel

The Center For Violence Prevention has a twenty-four hour crisis and referral line to assist in immediate needs. Trained personnel provide a wide range of references and resources. A home-like setting is designed to assist families that are in need of a safe environment. Services are in place to help these individuals begin a productive life, independent of abusive relationships.

Individual, family, and group counseling is provided by professionals. Education on domestic violence and related issues is provided to interested organizations and community groups free of charge. A safe day care is available for the children of mothers who are in shelter services.

Clothing and merchandise donated to the Second Chance Shop may be given to the shelter clients or sold in our retail store with all proceeds going directly to client services.

MadCAAP is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to assisting families living in poverty in Madison County MS. MadCAAP was founded in 1985 by Sister Mary Grace McGuire who assembled citizens concerned about the needs of the large population of people living in poverty in Madison County. MadCAAP initially developed programs to address the urgent needs of education, housing and emergency assistance. These programs have continued to expand over the past 26 years. MadCAAP operates a Clothing Closet, Food Pantry, Housing Repair and Krista Cottage Program, Helping Hands Garden and New Attitudes Classes, and served over 3000 families in 2011.  MadCAAP assists Grace Chapel during the Christmas season by identifying families in the Madison County for our Angel Tree Program.

Our Daily Bread

The Wingard Home has been ministering to the homeless and needy of Jackson, Mississippi, since 1990. Housing is provided for women, children, pregnant teens, men, and whole families who are homeless, living in dire straits, displaced, or abandoned. They must be willing and able to seek and secure full-time employment and be willing to follow rules. Each person is taught how to work hard and meet their needs themselves (that way, they will never be homeless again). Wingard Home is funded solely by donations from individuals, private foundations, and corporations; it accepts no government funding of any type.

Jackson Stewpot is an Inter-Faith ministry providing for the basic needs of those who are homeless, and/or impoverished with an emphasis on children, and individuals who have mental and/or physical limitations, offering assistance with their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. Stewpot provides a place for everyone to express their own ministry through volunteer efforts and/or financial contributions regardless of their faith, tradition, or personal limitations with the knowledge that everyone has something to offer their fellow man. Grace Chapel serves lunch at Stewpot each quarter.
